I never write to companies but for you and your crew we are so happy I just had too!

From setting the date to final cleanup this company has been wonderful to work with!  We were late to set a date for our Estate Sale and Denise agreed to work us into an already busy weekend.  Denise and her crew are very professional from start to finish. They came into our home and treated our belongings with care and respect.  What this crew did in a matter of days was amazing.  This is hard, labor intensive work and these people work hard!! I cannot thank Denise and the crew at the Estate Sale enough.  They made an overwhelming job seem easy!

After the Estate Sale, Denise’s son has a company who will come in and do any job that needs to be done.  We hired them to remove all leftover items.  Talk about efficient and fast! We didn’t have to lift a finger; they literally removed everything we asked for.  Next they have a reference for any cleaning needs.  We requested a deep clean, again on short notice, and our home hasn’t looked this sparkly since the day we moved in 60 years ago.

Hire this company, they are amazing.

This is just a "thank you" for always treating my friend Linda so kindly and respectfully for so many years. We had been coming to your sales for a very long time and as her health got worse and worse you would always ask how she was and even sometimes go out to the car and say hello to her. Getting out of the house to sales was one of the few things left that Linda loved to do and you all helped make it enjoyable for her and for that we are deeply grateful.

Linda passed away a few days before Christmas peacefully in her home but I wanted you to know how much your attitude and kindness meant to her.

I’ve been meaning to write to let you know how amazing your team was for my estate sale. 

I know that you couldn’t be there the day of my sale, but you definitely gave me your very best team, so thank-you, thank-you! Right from the start all of your team members introduced themselves and were very professional, kind and sensitive about the items I was selling.  They worked endlessly all day both during the day of the set up and the day of the sale, tagging, merchandising items into each of their own categories and sub categories  The day of the sale, my home was set up like a mini department store. I have been in the fashion business for over 18 years and know good merchandising when I see it.  I know how hard it is to put many miscellaneous items together to tell a story and  It looked beautiful.  I honestly thought I could have done it on my own, but I would never have been able to do close to what your team did.  I know that my items sold better than I expected because of the creative and clean merchandising.    

Everyone worked together as a team and were all very honest… Lina even gave me some loose change she found in some of my handbags J

I felt comfortable during the set up leaving your team in my home while I ran out to run some errands.  Bobby, Lina, Joe, Maritza, Cathy, Tommy & Reesha were all so great!  They were hardworking (didn’t even take a lunch break), very neat and kept things clean. 

I do want to call out Bobby in particular. I cannot say enough good things about him!!!  From the minute I met him, I felt very comfortable,  almost like I’ve known him forever. He was really personable, extremely hardworking and so dedicated to his work. He kept in contact with me on the day of the sale and updated me on some of my larger, more expensive items which made me feel even more at ease.

I think he single handedly sold my entire kitchen (cabinets and all)!!  When I said that I wouldn’t be able to take the kitchen cabinets apart, he promised that he would come back and meet the buyer to make sure all was okay and that I was comfortable.  

He was a man of his word.  Over one month after the sale, as promised… Bobby came to my house, met the buyer of the kitchen and helped remove everything carefully while keeping my house clean.  I am still living here for another 5 days before the renovation begins, so I really appreciated it J! Bobby even came back the day after the sale to hand deliver the key to my garage that I had given him and a rolling rack that was taken by accident.  He is such an asset to your team! 

I would definitely recommend Sisters in Charge to anyone interested in doing an estate sale! You guys were great!

Response to Sal Petrozino's Post of 5 hour ago: With all due respect to the poster, I was the homeowner who hired Sisters in Charge to run my estate sale.

Denise and team members Cathy, Tommy, Lena, Bobby, and 2 others (whose name escapes me), did a SUPERLATIVE job.

They were extremely organized, extremely empathetic to my situation, very professional, and just first class people, who really cared about doing their jobs.

They went over and above prior to opening the estate sale to the general public, by asking me on many occasions, if various paperwork or items were something that I wanted to expose to the general public.

The sale started right on time at 10:00 AM. When I arrived at 7:45 AM, there were already 4 or 5 people waiting on line to get in. In regard to the poster's comment about Sisters in Charge letting "priority" people gain access to the sale, that is simply false.

On one occasion prior to the opening, I (wearing the orange Nike shirt), led 2 people in the house ahead of all others, since we were dealing with a special, 1-off transactions regarding the automobile sale.

The 2 gentleman involved had provided a prior down-payment on the car, and we were handling this special transaction ahead of the estate sale to finalize the deal. This had NOTHING to do with letting priority people in early, so the poster was obviously miss-informed.

As far as the cleanliness of the house is concerned, that is on me, and not Sisters in Charge. The cleanliness leading up to the sale was my responsibility, and not theirs. Cleanliness is relative. In any event, it's hard to please everyone, but since I was the paying customer (and this was my first experience with Sisters in Charge), all I can say is that I HIGHLY recommend their services.

Although I was not present for the entire sale, I would have to say that most, if not all, patrons were very satisfied with how things ran.

There were many options to choose from in the area, but the professionalism truly showed beginning with our first point of contact with this organization. This consisted of a preliminary phone call to gauge whether or not Sisters in Charge would be the right fit for the job. After about thirty minutes on the phone with Denise, there was no doubt this company was the right choice to conduct our estate sale. Not only was Denise thorough in her answers to all my exploratory questions, she walked me through a tailored process of the services her company provides with vivid detail.

To describe the actual process of an estate sale provided by this business in one word would be,complete. If an estate sale was so seamless for a homeowner to conduct, then there would be no need for an estate sale service. To understand what is meant by this, one would need to realize all the aspects of service Sisters in Charge provided. The actual estate sale for us was a two day event over a weekend, but the days of preparation cannot and should not be unrecognized. This company took care of the planning, marketing, pricing, scheduling, and overall organizational framework of this two day event weeks before the sale commenced. As the homeowner, we were delighted at how hands-on the crew was to make this process as smooth and blasé as it turned out to be. I point this out as I am not quite confident to believe this same standard of service is carried out by others in the industry.

Overall, I recommend Sisters in Charge to anyone in the area interested in holding an estate sale of any size for any reason. The once-in-a-lifetime situation of closing the house you grew up in is not an easy task. After researched a few NY estate sale companies, I chose “Sisters in Charge” based on repeated recommendations and their long track record in the business. And I’m glad I did!
From the first meeting with Denise, I immediately warmed to her combination of wisdom, business savvy, sense of humor, and empathy to the emotional aspect of having to do an estate sale. She immediately got down to business and was extremely helpful in every way. And lastly, she listened— to my concerns, requests, and questions— regarding various aspects of the sale. Her office staff also communicated frequently and efficiently in the pre-sale planning stage.
Her “Sisters” team was stellar— hard working, good-spirited and during the “set-up day”, bravely delved into those nooks and crannies of the house that had been long forgotten for years. It was astonishing to see how they organized and beautifully displayed the myriad accumulation of “stuff’ that was in the house for nearly 50 years.
The resulting sale was a success. Due to emotional concerns, I chose not to be present until the sale was over, and decided to instead let “Sisters In Charge” do their thing. And “in charge” they were— they ran an organized, very well attended sale— undaunted by the frenzy of shoppers.
Denise was dependable, trust-worthy and even after an exhaustive day, maintained her poise and sense of humor as we were finalizing the sale totals. So, I’ll say: Thanks “Sisters in Charge”!

After my father’s death last spring, my family and I werefaced with the daunting task of clearing out the house my parents had lived infor 61 years.  It was important to usthat beautiful or serviceable items that we didn’t want or couldn’t use wouldgo to someone who would appreciate them. We decided our best approach would be to have an estate sale.  However, after a few weeks of sorting throughclosets and drawers, it became apparent that we needed someone who could set upand manage such an ambitious project.


I researched local estate sale companies and spoke with several;but none of them felt quite right.  Then afriend of a friend recommended Sisters in Charge.


I was impressed starting with my first call.  I spoke with Gina, who gave me an overview oftheir services and pricing.  Then Denisecame to the house to determine the best direction to take.  She took pictures of items, asked insightfulquestions, and did not make me feel that I was being forced to make anydecisions before I was ready.  Herkindness and her professionalism convinced me on the spot that I wanted to workwith her.   


The Sisters in Charge team scheduled, planned and executedour estate sale.  They let me know whatto expect every step of the way.  Theychecked up with me on the days preceding the set up and sale to ask if I hadany questions or concerns.  On the daysthey were due at the house, they came on time. They advertised on their website and in local print and electronic mediaand social media; determined fair market pricing of our items; created orderout of chaos, setting  the house up so itlooked like an antiques store; and they efficiently manned the sale.


We were very pleased with the results.  Sales exceeded expectations; and Denise even recommendeda thrift shop vendor to me who bought additional items directly from me that hadn’tbeen sold during the estate sale.


I would highly recommend Sisters in Charge to anyone whoneeds help with an estate sale.  Deniseis very knowledgeable and an excellent manager; her team is efficient, friendlyand helpful.   Her pricing is fair,especially considering the amount of pre-sale research and set up that they do.  I will definitely use Sisters in Charge againif I ever have to host another clearing out sale.

I don’t know where to even begin to express my gratitude to you and to your outstanding staff at Sisters In Charge!

Before you stepped foot into my home of 25 years, I was walking around in circles trying to figure out where to begin sorting through my belongings. To say I was dreading the entire process is a massive understatement.

Your instructions after we discussed the logistics immediately set my mind at ease. “Open a drawer, remove what you want and then just close the drawer. Same thing in the closets, leave everything where it is. Just take out the things you want. We will handle the rest.” I followed your instructions, admittedly, with a bit of skepticism. When I was finished, the entire house was in a complete state of disarray, until....

You arrived with your staff on “set up” day and I simply could not believe how they transformed the mess I left you. The level of professionalism was above and beyond my wildest expectations. I watched as your staff of five people set off in different directions, each of them following the instructions you dispensed with such efficiency, I felt my stress melting away by the second. 

I walked through the house, room by room, guided by one of them, to confirm what would be staying. They treated my belongings like treasures, double and triple checking with me if they came across something that looked like it might have been something I missed when I was packing the items I would be keeping.

I was in and out the entire day they were setting up for the sale. In between running errands, I was back at the house to finish boxing up the last of my things. When I returned for the last time on “set up” day, I could not believe what they managed to accomplish despite the chaos they walked in to early that morning. Every room was organized, all items clearly marked and despite the massive number of items being sold in addition to the furniture, there was no clutter! Even the outdoor items were neatly lined up away from the pool, forming a makeshift path to exit the yard using just one of the gates to ensure no one was near the pool.

The day of the sale, I unexpectedly found myself traveling to California for a funeral. I let you know the day before when I made my arrangements and thankfully, I had already given you a key to lock up on set up day. The sale went beautifully. One of my friends told her neighbors and they were at the sale. She was told, “I never saw anything like it! There was a line at the door, they were very organized only letting in a few people at the time. They have a tremendous following!” Based upon the end result, I have to agree! I received a very generous price for the items that were sold. 

When I returned from California, I went back to the house to see what was unsold to decide if there was anything I might want to consider keeping. I already had a price from your office to finish the clean out. This add on service from Relocaters proved to be invaluable to me. There were small items and some larger pieces of furniture. I think I picked up three small items to put with the things I would be taking and your team returned a day later to clear out everything for the new owner. When I went into the house to collect the things I would be taking from one area in the garage that you had taped off, the house was immaculate, dozens of bags of trash were removed and the house was ready for the new owners! Every closet, every drawer, every cabinet was empty. The floors were swept. In short, I didn’t have to do a thing except pick up the donation receipt for everything that was brought to Big Brothers Big Sisters! 

It was an absolute delight to work with you and with your staff. Every single person was pleasant and cheerful and most importantly, respectful of my home throughout the entire process from set up to sale to clean up. Despite that bit of wondering….. what would I still have to do when you told me “just take what you want and we will take care of the rest” you did exactly what you promised. Basically, you did EVERYTHING and I could not be happier!!

Being tasked to clean out the house as a newly single woman, while also being responsible for the safekeeping of decades of personal items belonging to my entire family was daunting. That was.....until you came along and did it all for me. I am forever grateful to you for carrying me through a very difficult situation, and literally, handling every aspect of getting my house ready for the new owners. 

I have not stopped singing your praises to anyone and everyone who asks how everything went with the sale of my house. Your services are fabulous, your staff is outstanding and you, Denise, are an absolute life saver. Thank you SO very much!

From the moment my daughter and I arrived at the Estate sale in Bethpage, we felt comfortable. Everyone working is extremely down to earth and welcoming.There were so many amazing items there, you name it… they had it.  I set my heart on a GORGEOUS vintage steam trunk for a fantastic price.  After my purchase it was time to pack up and go without considering that I had a Nissan and a passenger and also a trunk full of everything and anything from previous garage sales.After many attemps from the guys working the sale… it was soon a reality that this was NOT going to fit in my car. I had no one to call with a truck at that moment.. or anytime that day for that matter. 

They offered to drive it home for me at the end of the day, without a fee, without hesitation and it was such a kind gesture and so unexpected. Instantly he started measuring the trunk and rearranging his van to accommodate this MASSIVE steam trunk! 

He called me at the end of his working day and delivered my trunk to me at my home and carried it to my doorstep. The entire experience from start to end was AMAZING. 

It was like watching a unicorn fly above me… this act of kindness is so rare these days. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My daughter and I are customers for life.

Thank you for the great job you all did this past fall with regard to my elderly mother’s home.   You were all great to work with and the process went off without a hitch.  We will take this opportunity to recap the steps – it could not have gone more smoothly.



We made contact with Sisters In Charge shortly after Mother passed away in mid-August. Because we live in Texas, travel extensively and Mother’s home was on Long Island, we were on a very tight time frame as we were scheduled to close on the sale of the house the same day as the clean out.   We were able to work with you all to pick the exact day and Robert’s crew arrived half an hour earlier than expected at7:30 AM because they knew of the urgency in getting it all done.   The crew of six removed all of Mother’s remaining possessions, donated whatever was of value and disposed of the rest.  They completed the job at about4:30PM and the cleanup of the interior, attic, basement and garage resulted in the closing taking place as scheduled and the property in perfect condition for the hand off.  The entire process exceeded our expectations.



All three of you worked with us extremely well to handle payment and administrative matters, for which we are very grateful during this stressful time. So please take this as the strongest possible recommendation from us as  an extremely satisfied customer.  It is a pleasure to work with a company that does what they said they would do,pleasantly, efficiently and professionally.

Sisters in Charge took all the worry away. From my first contact with Ann and Denise, They made me feel confident and secure that this overwhelming job was under control. The staff was timely, courteous, respectful and efficient. The set-up and estate sale ran beautifully.

We also used Relocator services to remove any leftover items and broom clean the house. They also did a fantastic job.

Sisters in Charge, and Relocator services will take all the angst out of moving, I cannot thank you, Denise, and your company, for taking such a monumental task and making it so much easier on myself and my family.

Let me start off by saying that I am a buyer at the estate and tag sales on L.I. for the last couple of years and have gotten to know many of the companies that run these sales. I've observed so many things at so many sales about the way the companies run them, the customers who attend these sales, and the home owners that hire these companies.

 Sisters In Charge is amongst the best run companies at a task that is so difficult to please both home owner and buyer. Think about it fairly. If the homeowner reaches for the stars on what they value their items at, then the buyer will be unhappy and will not buy. The homeowner is now unhappy at the end, because they didn't sell enough items. If the items are priced fairly and merchandise is selling well, the homeowner will feel it went too cheap. It's a fine line, and an almost impossible task.

 Denise and crew do a great job of walking that fine line. You can't please everyone, but Sisters will do their best to do so. If I were a homeowner, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them. My suggestion, let these people do what they do best. They're professionals, not emotionally attached to your items. If I were a buyer (which I am), I will continue to support their sales.

Taking care of my mom when I live 4 hours away  is very hard, but selling her house , moving her and moving out the contents of her home after 40 years is extremely stressful.   Sisters in charge were my saving grace.   Not only did they manager the sale of the contents of the home but they have a moving service as well.  Rob moved my mom’s things to her apartment and then came back after the sale and removed unwanted items and cleaned the house to get ready for the new buyers.


Sisters in charge became my guardian angel. They were professional, and extremely responsive.  I don’t know what I would have done without them!

Mattituck Estate Sale

Dear Denise and Team,  

 Thank you for the great job all of you did in the set-up and running the Estate  Sale at my cousins house in Mattituck last week 10/9 & 10/11.  I found that you were all very professional as well as being considerate of any of the personal effects that were found at the house.  You all seemed to enjoy your work and had some laughs at some of the many "finds" at the house.  I thought the publicity was excellent and thought that the turn out was good.  Hopefully the final "clean up" will go as well and any of the stress that goes with clearing out a house will be over.

I cannot thank you enough for your concern regarding my car that wouldn't start.  Tom was most kind and generous to give my daughter and me a ride close to home.  I'm  sure my son appreciated the fact that he didn't have to drive out to Mattituck to pick us up.  I guess we all learned something about the pesky computer in cars that failed to recognize my key and start the car.  Thankfully the cost to reset the computer was reasonable.

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful job you did organizing and executing the sale at my mother’s apartment Friday, 5/16.  The last of the furniture was picked up this morning, and I don’t know who was more elated; the person who purchased it or me!  The sense of relief knowing it’s behind us is overwhelming.  I wanted to vacuum before leaving for the final time, and as sad as it was, I had to laugh – You sold all three vacuum cleaners!  (One for each room, of course).

Dear Denise,

My siblings and I contacted Sisters in Charge when we were overwhelmed with dealing with our mother's house and its contents after she passed away.  Denise was very easy to work with, took charge and made us feel at ease.   She took pictures and advertised the sale on their web site and via email to their massive following. A few days before the sale, they came to the house to set up for the sale.     On the day of the sale there was a line up to the door. In addition to Denise, "Sisters in Charge"  provided four additional experienced and friendly assistants to help manage the buyers both inside the house and out.   She reassured us that everything would be OK and even offered some hugs. All day long people were buying and carrying stuff out of the house.  She handled all the bargaining and didn't let buyers get away with giving next to nothing for the items.  At the end of the day, she totaled out the cash drawer and gave us our share, which was a lot more than we could have gotten on our own.   We would  recommend "Sisters in Charge" for anyone in a similar situation.

Sisters in Charge had a competent and efficient staff and knew what they were doing. I would recommend them if you need to sell the contents of a home particularly if you need to sell vintage-type items. They have a significant knowledge-base on pricing a vide variety of items. I was very pleased with the professionalism and work ethic of everyone involved at Sisters in Charge.  From scheduling to setup, to removal of remaining items by a referred company, everything went smoothly.  It was an extremely trying time for me and I could not take one more problem.  Sister in Charge was just what I needed.  

I called and researched several other companies, and Sister in Charge was more expensive than all of them, but you get what you pay for.  One of these other companies assured me that the two workers they had would be able to successfully set up my mother’s house for the tag sale in one day.  There was not way they could do this.  Sister In Charge has SIX people at my home to set up and it took all six of them from 9am until 3pm to complete the task.  The men who arrived came very early and got down to business.  The ladies who came a little later did an exceptional job as well in arranging like items as best they could, in all the rooms around the house.  Denise was no nonsense; barking orders, taking charge and simply getting what needed to be done - DONE!

The day of the tag sale I had people lining up at my door two hours earlier than the opening time.  That says a lot about the amount of people Denise’s staff reaches with her ads and internet advertising.  I had so much stuff left however, as my mother was a hoarder of forty years; that I believe I could have held a two day sale. 

All in all I would highly recommend Denise as well as her son, who I hired to dispose and donate the remaining items.  

Yes, I got what I paid for.  A professional job, an exceptional crew and most importantly piece of mind.

Denise, I wanted to drop a line and thank you for the tremendous job you ladies (and John) did with the estate sale. It has been a very difficult journey for me with my Aunt’s passing and the Sisters took charge. You provided the service I was so hoping to have. I know I gave you very little notice and I was worried that people would not come. However what impressed me most was the Sisters-in-charge customer following (A line out the door!!!). Like people on mission, you and your team; Christine, Jackie and John moved through the house pricing, setting up and managing the sale in a professional manner. Additionally, I felt so comfortable during the initial walk through with Anne that I knew I had made the right choice to call you! Need a reference? I would be more than happy to share my positive experience. Lastly, the follow up assistance in recommending Rob at “Relocators” turned the house into “walk through” shape in 4 hours. Of course this was after 3 dump truck loads – which I thought I was going to do on my own J. I am very happy at this point that I did not even attempt it. As you know, we had a big scare with my husband's open heart surgery just 10 days before the sale. But you and everyone on your staff were so kind and helpful that the house sale was the last thing I worried about. I knew you would have it under control and I could spend time taking care of Paul. The house looked like a beautiful department store, set up to feature every little thing in its best light possible. And your sense of humor and bubbly personality made the customers all feel at home...even while you were so sweetly making sure they paid the best price! We had the daunting task of moving a loved one across the country. We only had a few months and she had been in the house 62 years! 90% of our interactions with sisters in charge were over the phone. We were only able to be in NY for 6 days. All the pre planning over the phone was very reassuring. Your ability to explain the process, make it happen, and be sensitive to the circumstances was over the top. You were so flexible with our time constraints, offered solutions to expedite the process. The day of the sale I was kept informed of the process. Robert was also very good regarding timing and information. I feel so fortunate that I chose Sisters in Charge. I had screened a few other companies but did not get a good feeling that they would meet our needs.
